Here you'll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions regarding garage doors and their various parts and features. Make sure to read them all.
I need a new garage door, but the opener still works. Do I need to replace them both?
Not necessarily. It depends on the type of door you'll get. Before starting the process of changing your door, call us. Our experts will come to your home and give your garage door opener a thorough inspection. We will then advise you on the best course of action.
Why do some doors have more than one torsion spring?
Heavy duty garage doors should have a couple of torsion springs. Some have even three or four of them. Although that may seem excessive, it can be a great safety precaution in case one of the springs breaks. The other ones will be able to maintain the load, and will prevent further damage.
Should I get nylon rollers?
Nylon garage door rollers and are preferred for their silence. They don't need lubrication but are more expensive and won't last as long as steel rollers will. Our experienced technicians do not recommend them for very heavy garage doors, since they'll wear-out sooner. However, if yours is a lightweight door, and you're looking for silent operation, you may want to consider them.
